When a species evolves, the advancement gained provides the organism with an advantage which greatly improves its chances of survival. In order to survive, members of the old species must also evolve, adapt or die. In the "dog eat dog" world of sports ATV's, if you're not at the top of the food chain, then your days are numbered. The law of natural selection leaves no room for lesser species in this highly competitive market
With the creation of the new KFX700, Kawasaki boldly establishes a new category of sports ATV: the sports ATV with shaft drive and CVT. Those who have yet to ride this impressive new machine can be forgiven for thinking that the terms shaft drive/CVT and "sports" are mutually exclusive. However, a quick test ride is all that is required in order to realise that this is a misconception. One ride and you'll fully appreciate the evolutionary nature of the KFX700. It is the way of the future.
The KFX700 makes full use of the Workhorse 650 V-Twin's highly acclaimed engine - refining it further to give the KFX700 even more explosive power and blistering high-end performance. Engine capacity has been increased to 697cc and both the valve and ignition timing has been reconfigured to make the KFX700 the ultimate off-road thrill. Kawasaki will once again leave the ATV world breathless.
The power is put to the ground via a durable drive system featuring a CVT tuned for sporty performance. For ease of operation, an easy-to-use handlebar-mounted grip shifter is used (new Kawasaki exclusive feature), allowing riders to concentrate on riding.
The KFX700's impressive stopping power is provided by twin piston calliper front disc brakes, and Kawasaki exclusive enclosed wet multi-plate rear braking system.
During the preliminary development phase of the KFX700, Kawasaki's System Technology Department Centre used sophisticated computer simulation programs to help develop the new suspension systems. To offer smooth riding over rough terrain, a new, lightweight frame with a single-tube lower frame and long, flat-angle A-arm front suspension was designed. The KFX700 is the first production sport ATV to use the single-pipe, front tube layout, which is usually only found on serious custom competition machines. The lightweight, racing type front suspension is complemented by an upside down gas-charged shock at the rear. Light, high-performance brakes are fitted, and the 700 rolls on high-traction, Carlisle Hole-Shot tyres mounted to lightweight aluminium alloy wheels.
Intimidating is the word which best describes the machine's styling and dominant performance. The combination of the powerful exhaust note from the mighty V-Twin engine and the fierce design of the fenders and bodywork will have other ATVs scurrying for cover at the approach of the mighty Kawasaki KFX700.
