This new model includes the latest 1552cc Vulcan V-Twin with special fuel injection settings to satisfy the rider’s desire for smoother, stronger power. Use of the VN1600A base engine increases the Classic Tourer’s displacement from 1,470 cm³. VN1500L exhaust characteristics are maintained; fuel injection settings are changed accordingly. The greater displacement substantially increases power feeling.
The new fuel tank provides increased capacity over the 1500 Nomad and features the smooth edge, flangeless design so popular on our Vulcan Classic series. The beautiful sculpted instrument panel nacelle from the Vulcan 1600 Classic, along with the easy to reach ignition switch now grace the Nomad.
To fulfil its touring mission, the shapely hard, color-matched saddlebags provide ample storage room, while the height adjustable windshield helps reduce the rider’s exposure to the elements.
The chassis, based on the strong Vulcan 1600 Classic, features reinforced gusseting in the middle section. Reduced fork offset of 15mm (5mm less than that of VN1600A) provides ideal handling. Lighter steering at low speeds is promised by this reduction in fork offset.
Engine and saddlebag guards combine good looks with function. Engine guard mounted to the downtube protects the engine in the event the bike falls over. Pannier guards prevent damage to the panniers in the event the bike falls over.
The new Vulcan 1600 Nomad also receives a number of new features designed to increase passenger comfort. These include the addition of a backrest, passenger grab rails, and a change from passenger footpegs to passenger floorboards. These match the rider’s stylish and functional floorboards featuring an updated shape and rubber insert for greater comfort.
The backrest is tailored to fit pillion’s body provides high-comfort support for long distance rides.
Elegantly crafted aluminium die-cast grab rails replacing the seat band of the VN1500L are shaped to fit the pillion’s hands. In addition to providing additional passenger security, their chrome-coated finish contributes to the improved high-quality appearance
Pillion footboards give passengers more choice of foot position, which translates to greater comfort.
A reshaped rear seat complements the backrest and grab rail and contributes to increased passenger comfort. New seat construction features leather seat covers bonded to urethane for high-quality surface finish.
Revised front emblem and an emblem added to the rear of the bike contribute to the enhanced quality
The colour available is Metallic Ocean Blue. Newly developed metallic particles are used in this paint to give an even more brilliant finish.
